on our way out from the hospital today, a commotion was going on.
being the oh-so-busy-body dentistry students, we all decided to drop by to check out what was happening. then, we saw a mother practically wailing for something/someone.
Prof. Rita was there and she told us about the story. According to her, a young girl had hung herself to death after knowing that she failed her exam.
We stayed behind to watch the pitiful scene and after knowing that there was nothing we could ever do, we went home. Each having teary eyes.
It was later when Roshiny came to our room to tell us the ACTUAL story she had heard from the cleaning akka who was there when it all happened...
The girl did not fail her finals. instead, she passed the test with well to do marks. It was her friends who told her that she had failed before the results were even announced. She practically died in vain.
According to the Akka, cases like this will continue to happen especially during the exam month. People here are so poor that if they fail their exam, it would be the end of everything. Lucky girls might be married off to some old man in the next village but, those are very rare cases.
Its just very very troubling....
i will never ever do anything so stupid after hearing the cries of the mother. I can never allow my mother to feel the same way as how the girl's mother did. It's such a heart breaking scene. =(

It's been officially four months since we last met
each other. Out of boredom, I have decided to share with all of you my
very ( ahem...) 'cool' life here. Things are pretty good now
when compared to the first day I stepped foot on Salem, ( I remembered
some cigarette brand-SALEM! cool serene place with mountains..but THIS
SALEM was completely the opposite!) Anyway, I adapt to places well and
I think I'm a much stronger person now. 2 days ago, I was
admitted into the hospital. I had AGE- acute gastro enteritis or
something like that. Since last Sunday I have been purging and
visiting the toilet for more than 20 times per day! I had to go to the
hospital to replace my body fluids lost. The good doctor
ordered an intravenous infusion of 5% dextrose for me. I was all alone
at the hospital since my buddies had classes. Even though being afraid
of needles ( needle phobia ), i was quite surprised that I did not shed
a single tear throughout the whole 2 hours!! The tears only started
flowing when i called mum to relate my predicament.
Had to tell her...just in case ..and i need to hear her reassuring voice cos i was getting lonely and scare. I seriously have never gone through anything like that before... not in a foreign land okay! =) Well,
I'm still not much better. I'm still passing out' green watery thingy'
from my poor anus and my legs are becoming very wobbly lately. But, I'm
fine. I am still able to play badminton with the guys at night
and disturb kamini in class. =) teachers here are crazy and i meant
that! there is a lecturer who teaches us physiology. he's a
complete crap. he told us that he will scold his wife like a mad dog if
she talks to him in public and asked all the guys not to put their
wives and children first. he scolded us-females for talking to the
boys and reprimanded me terribly in front of the whole class when he
caught me talking with a guy. how crazy is that. seriously, he's a
lunatic. Caveman?????Hopefully i will try to flow along with him. You
see i dont want to get on his bad book! he thinks that he's
greater than God. he claims that no one in the world is smarter than
him. I mean, how nutty can a person get! he's just bloody crazy! Or
maybe he's trying to impress us... lessons are getting tougher
by the minute, if you think that Indian standard is low, you are so
wrong. we have to study many other excessive things that dentistry
don't require. and in our second week, we visited the 'tomb'. It was
filled with bodies all over. and there were cans and tongs of brains,
eyeballs, lungs, kidneys, intestines, and many other disgusting things.
Shouldn't use the word disgusting but they're "geli" Our
anatomy class is in the Anatomy Room. The table that we write on is
also the same table used to place the dead body.. how eewwwie. During
the first week, It was terrifying to even enter the room. I wanted to
puke a few times. But after that, things got better. Now, it's like...
hmm... we hve gotten used to the smell. How cool is that!! think about
it!!! =) I seriously think Mr.perumal rocks! a) He's
really funny without needing to work his way round us b) He talks with
me in Tamil. c) He is the first teacher that took our noisy group to
visit the "kingdom of dead bodies'' !! I pitied him however.... Having
a group that consists of me, ursha, kamini, roshiny and suyin is the
worst thing a teacher could ever ask for. However, he is a really good
teacher. Always helping us up in everything that we do. That is why,
he's my favorite anatomy asst prof.. =)and he's only 28 yrs old, wink
wink...

Leaving to Bangalore this Friday. I am super duper excited about the whole trip! =) I can't wait to sew my first pair of punjabi suit and get my first saree. Euphoric~
I'm bringing 1000rupees there and hopefully, I will not spend all the money on shopping alone. =) We are going by a 6 hours coach ride and staying a night in a nice hotel.
We are also going to explore the high class clubs in Bangalore and eat in MCD and Pizza Hut for every meal! It's going to be such a fun activity to do together after home-sicking for more than 4 weeks.
Yippieee!!!!!
Have been having diarrhoea and fever the whole day. Feeling so weak and disappointed at myself for not studying. Visited the toilet for more than 20 times today and just when I thought that there's nothing more to come out of my anus, the pain returns. So, I might take tomorrow off. I really can't imagine dragging myself to endure the 15 minutes walk to the hostpital past the dusty, dry and blazing hot dessert in this condition. =(
Ohya.. Im coming back this August! =) Don't miss me ya! =) =) And ma.. please send me my stuffs asap. but before that, double check with me by emailing me the list again ok. =) Love ya!

Im so not in a mood to blog especially when i can't upload pictures. i have no idea why or how these thing works. so yeap. anyway, we celebrated Ursha's birthday with a bang that day. Gave her a shock at 12 am n completely destroyed her attire for the night. =) We even made for her a big card. =)
So, that was Ursha's birthday. Earlier, we all had a cooking gathering. all of us made of specialities and serve it during dinner. i fried some minced chicken and Ursha cooked it with her special sambal,
Roshiny made her famour "hancur eggs ala Roshiny" and Kamini helped to cut the garlic and all. Lee ching the princess made for us ABC soup.. The best soup I have ever tasted since arriving here.
Suyin made some weird potatoes and tomatoes thingy that tasted delicious only to me. Having a craving for veges, i sent some raw ingredients to Suyin's block so that she can cook it for me. =)
Psycho is really killing me. He scolded me for talking to Darwin. Even if its for education purposes. He forbids the girls and the boys to talk to each other. He claims that we must all ask our parents permission for doing so. If I were to call my mum asking.. "ma..can i talk to the boys?", she would have laugh her arse off on the spot. The whole class were talking to each other about dumb gossips but since they were doing it to the same sex, it's ok.
INSANITY.
Eventhough Roshiny and Darwin was the main people talking and me being the side listener, i got screwed. Then, he gave Roshiny "senyuman paling miang aku pernah nampak". It's seriously damn unfair! I can't help it if I'm a chinese right?! I don't blame Roshiny though.He did not even dared to reprimand me out loud in front of his other konco konco. Because, it is seriously a joke and they will definitely laugh at him. The other lecturers all encouraged us to mix around and not stick to a group.
Psycho.
The rest of the year with him will be a living hell for me. stupid racist bastard. He came all the way to my place to lecture me about talking to a guy. Even after explaining to him that I was innocent, he ignored me. Then, he asked me not to fight back with him. I felt like crying on the spot. Why must i admit to something that i did not do?! Besides, I was not fighting, I was merely explaining. Thank God the rest of the department staffs are all normal. He is a bloody pervert-ish racist bastard! I had to suck it up and appologise to him. I din't want him to fail me for my finals. So feel like crying you know! SO DAMN UNFAIR!!!!

yaewn..yawn... I woke up and checked the time from my handpphone. oh shyt!!! 7.25 already!! class starts at 8! Why din't Ursha wake me up? Why was she still sleeping?! Deng!!!!
So, off i ran to the bathroom and took a really quick shower in the icy cold hard paip water, came out, and got dressed. In my attempts to wake Ursha uP, I glanced once again to my watch. Deng! Why is it 7.40??!! Class starts only at 9! Yup.. morning confussion bug bit me really hard this time.

highlight...
Miny fought with her room mate yesterday with alot of shoutings and door slamming actions. Miny's room mate was so mean. She came to Cafe Malaysia that day and started pointing at miny, calling her a bitch. Then, when Miny entered the room yesterday, she said " the shit had just entered".
The whole fight started when the psychotic girl forced Miny to clean her bed and banned Miny's senior friends from entering the room. Besides that, she had also asked Miny to turn on the paip for her every morning because she needs to get her beauty shower.
After Kamini refuses to help her out, she had decided to remove her water mug so that Miny couldn't bath in the room. And she ordered Miny to remove all the items on the rack.
I mean come on, how irrelevant can a 22 year old get? Then, when Miny couldn't stand it anymore, she decided to move out. and so, Ursha and I went to help to pack her things. Upon reaching the block, we heard screamings coming from inside of the room. The war had just began. The nutmeg was so rude. She insulted Miny's friend, Insulted all the dental students-claiming that we "tak cukup pointers for medicine and that's why we chose dentistry" and alot of other bullshits.
BTW, miny was the third room mate to move out of that assylum. The rest of them made a quiet exit to avoid trouble. But miny fought back. good!
that's all!! no class tomorrow!!! riot going on. =)
and remember, if you want to talk to a member of the opposite sexm ask permission from your parents!!!!

sometimes, people can be so annoying. Especially when they think that they are so smart. haih..
anyways, i got reprimanded for sleeping in the class today. which i did not!! I was looking at the teacher with my head on the table. everyone does that! however, because i'm sitting in front, i got kantoi-ed from her.
2 words very irritating.
so, kamini fought with her room mate today. finally she has spoken out to the GIRL. i pity her. my ex senior room mate was such a nice girl. she made me so comfy staying with her. but the rest of my friends are not that lucky. they kept having to change rooms. haih
thirdly, korkor asked the electrician guy to fix my bathroom. the indian guy entered my room asking if i was Kicing's sister. after a minute of conversing with him, i found out that he was the guy korkor told me about. Ursha and I was rejoicing for the bright toilet light now. Tommorrow, we will ask him to fix the table lamp for 20 rupees. hehe!
well, got to go now. too many kiasu kiasi people in the class. have to study to catch up with them
anyways, we have just gotten our lab coat. thick and heavy. Very excited to wear my spag tops beneath the coat. I'm so tired of wearing formal attires in this hot still weather already. haihx..

sand storm at 6pm just now. massive. blinded me completed and made the whole room so dusty. and on top of that, the boys have to throw air bomb all around just to make the scene more terrifying for us.
btw. im having serious constipation problem. am very sad!

Our trip yesterday to the town was full with emotions, sweat and drama. Lee ching was at the urge of breaking down when she couldn’t handle the heat anymore. She even wanted to quit the programme. However, all of us encouraged her and asked her to relax. After all, two years will end very very soon.
We have a few anti-social people here in our batch. They enjoy sticking to themselves and ignoring others. And they stick to themselves for the sole purpose of looking down on others. So, we shall all ignore them.
Last night, we had our CF meeting. I’m so glad for finding a CF group here in Salem. And so, today morning, we left for church. It was a tiring ride but it was worth it. =) I found... The Golden Dragon Restaurant!!!! Hooray!!! It serves delicious Chinese food! Who says you can’t get Chinese food here in India??!!
Breakfast : mineral water
Lunch : noodles and satay chicken
Dinner : green beans tong sui by yours truly
